We will not collect any personally identifiable information about you unless you approach us first either in writing, by phone, by email or through this website.


Your privacy and data security are very important to us. We may collect information from you as the performance of a contract.

Information we may collect

Please note our telephone calls are recorded for our mutual protection. These calls may include the collection of personal information from yourself for the purpose of applying for a mortgage or a life insurance policy.

In order for us to approach lenders and insurance companies on your behalf, we will require a fact find to be completed. This is the information mortgage providers require as part of considering an application for finance. The types of data required may include:

  • Name

  • Contact details

  • Age

  • National Insurance Number

  • Residential address

  • Address of other properties, including any you are seeking finance for and other properties applicable for the stress test 

  • Employers details

  • Employment history including income

  • Your financial position including assets, liabilities and spending patterns


Lenders and ourselves have responsibilities to verify the data we collect. There are various documents we may need to see to do this, including:

  • Your identification including proof of address 

  • Employment contracts and Payslips 

  • Tax returns

  • Bank statements

  • A credit report.

How we use your personal information

Any information collected about you will be mainly used for the purpose of applying for a mortgage or life insurance.

We may also use your information to:


  • Manage your secure portal account with us

  • Analyse our customer buying patterns to assist with business planning and marketing in order to improve our service proposition (data will be anonymised) 

  • Satisfy any regulatory requests as obliged to

  • Provide you with updates of our services

We will continue to store your personal data on our systems as follows:

  • Data relating to a completed mortgage application will be kept on our systems for 7 years after completion in line with our regulatory requirements;

  • Data relating to incomplete mortgage applications will be retained as long as your online portal account remains active

  • Data relating to a completed life insurance application will be kept on our systems for 7 years after completion in line with our regulatory requirements;

  • Data relating to incomplete life insurance applications will be retained as long as your online portal account remains active

We will only share your data with the following bodies:

  • Regulators, Government bodies and Ombudsmen where a genuine requirement exists

  • A mortgage lender; to allow us to make a mortgage application on your behalf

  • Life Insurance companies for Life Insurance Applications

  • Third parties that are involved in the mortgage application process such as solicitors, valuers, conveyancers and mortgage clubs

  • Third party providers of technology and compliance services
